The Laboring of Days

It's Labor Day today! A day to cease your labors, to celebrate work well and truly done. 

It's also the informal end of the long summer days and we sharpen our new school pencils and look forward to this last third of the year. The chaotic joy of throwing off our shoes and routines  and enjoying the last sunlight well into the evening gives way to refocusing on goals and slowly tuning back into our creative productivity. 

I look forward to the settling in that begins with today's holiday, the process of beginning to quiet. But first I will celebrate this summer that has been so good to me!
